Thank you for your
interest in Goatastic Acres at Kupiec Farms. Our Nigerian Dwarf
goat herd is AGS and NDGA registered. A portion of every goat
we sell and a portion of all the grain we harvest is donated to
Heifer, International in an effort to make the world a better
place, one goat at a time! That's how I came up with the name
"Goatastic!" Last year we were able to donate six large dairy
goats and a flock of laying hens to third world families. Thank you to our customers who helped to make it happen each
time they chose a Goatastic Acres goat!
Ours is a large hobby farm, about 400 acres, with creatures
great and small. Some of them we own and some of them we simply
enjoy...like the fox we see darting through the shadows, the
coyotes we hear pine away at the moon, and the deer that
frequent our corn can feeders. My husband and I have raised
three children on this farm and, luckily, we now have time for
wildlife conservation as well. We have many acres of land
dedicated to Pheasants Forever habitat and food plots. We
release bobwhite quail and ringneck pheasants each year --and
we've had a lot of them survive. We have whole stands of
evergreen trees that were planted to help rabbits, squirrels,
deer and God's other creatures survive the harsh Michigan
winters.
There
is a great children's book on the market called, "The Goat Lady" about an old
woman who the townspeople didn't understand or appreciate. This old woman
raised big, white dairy goats that were scattered on her front yard and back
porch. She was the "butt" of jokes and misunderstandings among the
people because she was older than dirt and wore worn out clothes. She had
a worn out house and a barn that matched. She didn't keep up with the
Jones family so she was an outcast. Until one day an artist came to town
and painted her with her goat herd. Those paintings were put on display in
an art gallery out east and they helped explain to everyone that she was
raising her goats for donation to Heifer International. Goat's milk
had helped her when she was a small child in her native country. It is a
true story and The Goat Lady is our inspiration.
We work hard every day to enjoy what we have,
share it with others, and we are trying to breed a few excellent
quality animals. We are doing our best to give back to Mother
Nature here, through our conservation efforts, and abroad,
through Heifer Int'l, to mothers around the world. Please sit a
spell with us and click on our different pages. We hope to
entertain, educate and provide enjoyment to our readers.
